Mission Statement
Establish trust and create value by building a comfort zone that honors differences and develops mutual understanding through the collaborative process. We offer a method of movement utilizing improvisational problems where participants challenge weaknesses, overcome fears and improve strengths. This is all accomplished through the transformational power of the arts!
My priorities are to:
- Establish trust in various endeavors and create a comfort zone where participants utilize and develop their best qualities.
- Give others the opportunity to create value in relationships by discovering commonalities that honor differences and develop mutual understanding.
- Create “an environment where communication flourishes with an open-minded spirit of discovery based on compassion."
- Establish a desire for building relationships on what we have in common and transform our differences into rich sources of value.
- Offer a method of creating a fluid and organically unfolding style of movement through improvisational problems aimed at awakening the truth within.
Workshops
Two fun and exciting workshops with substance that you will welcome not dread.
DYNAMIC MOVEMENT (for children and adults) is a dance program based on collaborative effort. Experience is unnecessary as you will learn the basic language of dance. This is an ideal venue to challenge (or find alternatives) to combat any physical limitations. The focus is not on the final product, your body type or how well you dance: more importantly what we learn about ourselves in the process. You will step out of your comfort zone and joyfully expand boundaries with ease! I designed and presented this workshop for Rutger's School of Social Work Arts in Prevention Certificate Program with great success.
ART MOVES The elements and principles of art are not generall familiar knowledge.
This is an opportunity to learn new concepts and draw parallels beyond the world of Art that can reflect in other areas of our lives and relationships.
Art Moves teaches:
- Art Elements: space, line, shape, form, color, texture, and value.
- Dance Elements: body, energy, space, and time.
- Art Principles: balance, unity, pattern, rhythm, movement, and emphasis
The participants will explore the many possibilities, learning to incorporate both disciplines, creating a new exciting venue!
